What Guests Have to Say About Pod 51

We stayed in Pod 51 for 6 days and we highly recommend you to do the same! The location is very good (near Rockefeller, Times Square and Grand Central), the subway station is 3 minutes away.
The room is quite small but has everything you need for the evenings after a long day wandering around NYC. The staff is friendly. The hotel itself is very cute, and has an amazing rooftop. -gl0ria88 (TripAdvisor)

I have stayed at the Pod 51 on most of my trips to NYC since I came across the hotel in the early 2010s. More recently, I come weekly to NYC for work, so I spend a night each week at the Pod 51. I always try to stay here because the hotel is extremely clean and well-maintained, all the hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms have all the amenities I need. It all started with a smooth check-in process with the manager, Albert. He was lovely, gracious, and helpful. He knew that I needed to get into my room for an important call, and made sure I was checked in quickly. My room was a comfortable full bed, VERY clean bathroom and small sink area. This hotel is super convenient and within in walking of UN, midtown shopping and theater. Housekeeping does a fantastic job. While the rooms are small (and who really spends any time in them while in the city), they have all that you need. It never fails that I meet other travelers in the elevator and most are coming from other parts of the world. Didn't eat at the lobby cafe or hit the roof top on this trip, but both are great. We only planned on staying here in NYC for one night but due to the friendly, inviting and very helpful staff we ended up staying an extra night! The price was one of the best in the city and for the location and ease of access it was unbeatable! When told that my room was a shared bath, I braced myself, as it is on the low end of the Manhattan hotel price range. But my friend's recommendation was spot on. Maybe 8x10-12, the corner room had two(!) windows with plantation shutters, a window a/c unit, a sink and lighted mirror, closet rod and hangers, TV, desk, carpet and a comfy single bed. It was spotless and bright with white walls.The housekeepers were busy every day; one even came to my room to ask if I needed towels.
